Infosys certified as Managed Service Provider by Google Cloud

Infosys said it has qualified as a ‘managed service provider’ for Google’s cloud computing products.

Google gives the title of managed service provider or MSP to those companies who “have shown deep cloud expertise”.

“From deep daily engagement across Google Cloud business and technical teams to quarterly business reviews, these partners will have the tools needed to map a strategic plan with customers in a very thoughtful way,” according to Google.

Google Cloud is a distributed IT backbone comprising tens of thousands of computer and thousands of kilometers of fiber, as well as dozens of datacenters spread across the world.

This infrastructure is then leased out to clients for as little as $5 per month. Clients use the infrastructure to run their applications, web servers, store data, conduct analysis and so on.

Google provides dedicated technical account managers and customer engineering services to MSPs. MSP employees also get access to various online and in-person communities around Google Cloud.

Some of the areas that Infosys will use Google Cloud will be for data exploration and cognitive conversational interfaces for contextual interactions, managing data as an asset, data governance, accelerated analytics, high-security cloud services, and SAP cloud migration.

Besides using third-party cloud platforms, Infosys also has its own cloud network stretching around the globe. However, some customers prefer to go with platforms such as Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services.

“Cloud has been a key focus area for our clients and Infosys, and we continue to invest in new solutions, partnerships and offerings to enable our clients to navigate their digital transformation journeys,” said David Wilson, Senior Vice President and Head Infosys Partner Ecosystem.

“This enhanced partnership with Google Cloud is an example of how we are helping enterprises as they look to the cloud for digital transformation. Enterprises will significantly benefit from the best in class, highly secure and reliable cloud platform of Google Cloud and Infosys’ expertise in data, AI, analytics, workload migration and cloud deployments.”

Google, on its part, said the partnership was a recognition of Infosys’ expertise in managed services.

“Customers increasingly want to move mission-critical workloads to Google Cloud,” said ,” said Carolee Gearhart, Vice President, Worldwide Channel Sales at Google Cloud.

“Infosys’ experience and knowledge in cloud migration, particularly with priority workloads such as SAP applications and in hybrid cloud deployments, will be a valuable resource for customers as they modernize business processes on Google Cloud.”
