Voltas, the largest selling AC in India, today launched ‘smart ACs’ in an exclusive tie-up with online retailer Amazon.
Users can turn their AC on and off and change the temperature using voice commands like “Alexa, turn on the AC” or “Alexa, set AC to 23 degrees”.
For finer-grained control, they can use can the company’s specially designed smartphone app that works over a wifi connection.
Using the app, customers can change modes based on weather conditions, manipulate the time and control the fan.
Besides phones and tablets, they can be controlled using Amazon Echo smart speakers and other Alexa-enabled devices such as Harman Kardon Allure.
The company said it was the first ‘voice-controlled’ AC in India.
Voltas had previously launched wifi-enabled ACs in the Indian market.
