L&T Technology Services wins ‘multi-million dollar’ order from German plastic maker

Engineering services provider L&T Technology Services said it won a multi-million dollar project from Covestro, a Germany-based manufacturer of advanced polymer materials, to transform the company’s operations.

The contract covers two major areas.

First, L&T Technology Services will help Covestro migrate data as part of its larger digitalization program for its engineering, operations and maintenance activities.

Secondly, the Indian company will help it harmonize its global engineering standards & practices to increase efficiency.

“We are confident that the potential and experience of LTTS will enable us to incorporate solutions to deliver the implementation of Digital Transformation and Standards Harmonization,” said Ferry Feldbrugge, Head of Global Projects & Engineering and Global Technical Contracting, at Covestro..

“Their engineering experience in executing global projects will help Covestro to achieve the best-in-class Standards to execute projects.”

He said Coventro’s aim is to have a “comprehensive contract defining the full scope of work, meeting the requirement for different project phases and execution strategies such as FEL3, EPCM, EPC, etc.”

“With these initiatives, we will optimize our project costs, timelines to ensure reliable and safe operations.. These programs will drive Covestro’s digital transformation and standardization journey across the globe,” it added.

L&T Technology Services, a unit of Larsen & Toubro, said it will leverage its technology capabilities and expertise in plant engineering and asset management to deliver the services.
