Hero MotoCorp reports 31% growth in two-wheeler sales in January

Hero MotoCorp reported strong auto sales numbers for January.

Total two-wheeler sales rose 31% to 6.41 lakh during the month, taking the total for the financial year over the 6 mln mark with two months remaining.

The performance is comparable to those of the others in the industry.

Bajaj Auto, for example, reported a 36% jump in two-wheeler sales to 2.89 lakh, while Royal Enfield reported a 31% rise to 77,878 in January.

In December, Hero Motocorp had reported sales of 4.73 lakh, which was a growth of 43% over the previous year.

“Our robust double digit growth in overall two‐wheeler sales has been driven by very strong growth in both Scooters and Motorcycles,” said Ashok Bhasin, Head of Sales, Marketing & Customer Care at Hero MotoCorp.

“We are confident of maintaining our strong growth trajectory and setting a new industry benchmark in sales for the full year,” he said.

Earlier this week, Hero MotoCorp unveiled the all‐new ‘Xtreme 200R’.

Developed by engineers at the company’s in‐house R&D facility ‐ the Hero Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) ‐ the Xtreme 200R will be available for sale in the country from April 2018.
