Infosys completes acquisition of London-based Brilliant Basics

Infosys said it completed the acquisition of Brilliant Basics, a London-based product design and customer experience company.

The acquisition was first announced a month ago.

“Through this acquisition, Infosys further expands its worldwide connected network of Digital Studios that are focused on fulfilling the needs of global clients for end-to-end Digital Transformation solutions required to meet customer demand for next-generation enhanced customer experiences,” the company said.

“Brilliant Basics is a global design and product studio that creates products that make life simply better. We help clients throughout all stages of their business and digital roadmap: generating innovative ideas, shaping them into valuable digital products and experiences, launching the MVP rapidly, and continuously optimising the experience based on data and insights,” the company says on its website.

It was founded in 2012 by Anand Verma.

The addition of Brilliant Basics extends Infosys’ digital design services network to include Europe and the Middle East, and enhances the company’s expertise across financial services, retail and telco sectors, it added.

The move is part of the company’s attempts to move away from its traditional role of supplying manpower to international clients on a ‘time and effort’ billing basis to developing software and solutions.

Infosys has an employee base of 198,000, but has been facing increasing challenges in maintaining growth due to the disruptive impact of automation technology that makes its army of engineers redundant.
