TCS deploys core banking software at Harbin Bank, China

IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reported it has deployed core banking software TCS BaNCS at China-headquartered commercial bank Harbin.

BaNCS is TCS’ main product for banks, and offers various solutions for core banking, internet banking, treasury, wealth management, mobile banking and insurance.

The TCS BaNCS solution is now being used for deposits, cards, channels, and payments, across Harbin Bank’s 593 branches in China that serve 22 million customers, the Indian company said.

Headquartered in Mumbai, TCS is part of India’s largest conglomerate Tata Group, and is currently the world’s second largest IT services provider.

It operates in more than 46 countries and offers consulting services in various areas like IT, business and technology and engineering.

It is India’s largest private sector employer, and has nearly 3 lakh employees in India.

Harbin Bank, formerly known as Harbin City Commercial Bank is a nation-wide share-holding commercial bank, is headed in Harbin, China and has over 8,000 employees.

The bank’s primary activities consist of loans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), deposits in domestic currencies, including checking accounts, savings accounts, portfolio management, foreign exchanges, and electronic banking services.
