DRDO presents high-tech ice-beating tents for Indian soldiers

The Defence Research and Development Organization, India’s biggest research organization under the government, has designed a hi-tech tent that almost the chill out of soldiering in high-altitude and glacial borders like Leh and Siachen.

The shelter will not only maintain a comfortable temperature, but also maintain the levels of carbon dioxide and other gases inside the tent at the right level.

“The shelter design is modular and all the services like Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, electrical, plumbing and water supply, sewage disposal, kerosene gensets and solar power are well integrated within the shelter,” DRDO said in a statement.

They will protect the soldiers in temperatures up to -35 degrees, it said.
