Maruti Suzuki opens booking for Baleno 2019

Baleno can be booked at NEXA showrooms for Rs 11,000

Maruti Suzuki said it has opened booking for Baleno 2019 edition.

The car, which falls into the mid-range hatchback category, can be booked at any NEXA showroom by paying Rs 11,000.

Just days ago, Maruti Suzuki had opened booking for the new WagonR.

Baleno is targeted at customers who want something a little more ‘premium’ compared to the popular Swift hatchback.

Despite the premium tag, however, Baleno is more or less priced at the same level as Swift, with a price difference of only around 10%.

As is customary, Maruti Suzuki did not give the final pricing of Baleno 2019.

Usually, a model starts hitting the showrooms 2 or 3 months after the company opens the booking. Pricing is announced closer to the launch to prevent competitors from making counter-moves.

It is not clear if the booking amount is refundable, in case the customer doesn’t want to go ahead with the purchase.

BALENO 2019 FEATURES

As for key upgrades, Maruti Suzuki said the new Baleno will sport a “striking new stance, complimented with a new and aggressive front design”.

“The interiors are upgraded with refreshred premium ornamentation.

“The new Baleno will offer additional safety features like speed alert system, co-driver seat belt reminder and rear parking assist sensors. These are over and above the standard dual airbags, child seat restrain system (ISOFIX), Pre-tensioner and force limiter seat belts and ABS with EBD [electronic brake-force distribution],” it added.

Baleno is among the most popular models among Maruti Suzuki’s NEXA premium vehicles, along with the S Cross compact SUV.

It is also one of the most attractively priced cars with a quasi SUV-look, and prices start at around Rs 6.5 lakhs on road.

Maruti Suzuki said sales of Baleno have been up 14% in March-December 2018 compared to the same period of 2017.

According to Maruti Suzuki, Baleno is the fastest car to hit the 5 lakh sales milestone within a record time of 38 months.

“With cumulative sales of over 5.2 lac units, Baleno holds over 26% of market share in the A2+ segment,” the auto maker said.
