Rashi Peripherals, one of India’s largest mobile phone distributors, has announced that the iPhone 7 will be available in the country starting from October 7.

“The smart phones will be available at over 1000 retail locations across India,” it said.

The device was launched in the US yesterday, at a starting price of $650, or around Rs 60,000.

The India price will be around Rs 66,000 for the starting 32-GB model due to higher taxes.

The larger iPhone 7 Plus will be priced around Rs 10,000 higher.

The phone was not really seen as a pathbreaking device, and Apple’s shares have slipped after the device was unveiled. They fell 3% yesterday in the American market.
