The wait is finally over, and Naga Chaitanya’s most-anticipated movie ‘Majili’ hit the screens n April 5, 2019. Interestingly, this film features Naga Chaitanya’s real-life better half Samantha Akkineni playing the role of his love interest. The film is directed by Shiva Nirvana, and it features an ensemble star cast including Divyansha Kaushik, Rao Ramesh, Posani Murali Krishna, and Subbaraju.
Majili offers a rollercoaster ride
Even though Majili hit theaters in the label of a romantic entertainer, it has various other elements to hook up the audiences on the theater seats throughout the running time. The first half of the film majorly tried to establish the characters in this movie, and the element of love can be seen only in song sequences. In the meantime, we can also see scenes where intense fights happen between goons and the lead protagonist played by Naga Chaitanya.
The film also tries to talk about the prevalence of corruption in Indian cricket. In this film, Naga Chaitanya plays the role of a young cricketer named Poorna who tries to get into the local team. However, Poorna’s dreams face a set back when a local politician Bhushan (Subbarao) demands lakhs of rupees as a bribe to get him into the team. The remaining part of the movie shows Poorna’s journey to demolish the evil practices in the sports, and at the same time, he should also maintain his love affair with Anshu (Divyansha Kaushik). The character of Samantha enters late in the movie, and it is not wise to reveal more about her as it may act as a spoiler.
Majili is a director’s movie
Even though all the actors including Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni have played their roles perfectly on screen, Majili is such a movie that will be remembered for the directorial elegance of Shiva Nirvana. From scene one, the director succeeded to impress the audiences, and throughout the running time, they will not sense a feeling of boredom for at least a second.
Gopi Sundar’s background score literally elevated the mood of the movie, and he deserves applause for this effort. Vishnu Sharma’s frames look realistic, and Prawin Pudi’s editing seems top-notch.

Majili’ is not an extraordinary movie, but this is a perfect cup of tea for people who wish to spend some quality time with their family at theaters.
