6:30 PM Bulletin: Karunanidhi’s health declines

The latest health bulletin from Kauvery Hospital in Chennai at 6:30 PM today has said that there has been a further deterioration in Tamil politician Karunanidhi’s health.

“There has been a decline in the medical condition of Kalaignar Dr M Karunanidhi, DMK President and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,” read the bulletin signed by Dr Aravind Selvaraj, Executive Director of the hospital.

“Maintaining his vital organ functions continues to remain a challenge considering his age-related ailments.

“He is on continuous monitoring and being treated with active medical support.

“His reposne to the medical interventions over the next 24 hours will determine the prognosis,” the doctor added.

More than 20 people have already committed suicide due to sorrow over his deteriorating health.

Born in Thirukkuvalai village in Nagapattinam district, he was born as a son of Muthuvelu and Anju. Karunanidhi was more interested in drama, poetry, and literature during his school season.

Karunanidhi, who was inspired by the speaker Azhagirisamy, considered the pillar of the Justice Party, completely engaged in social movements at his 14th age.

Karunanidhi began his career as a screenwriter in the Tamil film industry. Through his wit and oratorical skills he rapidly rose as a popular politician.

He was famous for writing historical and social (reformist) stories which propagated the socialist and rationalistideals of the Dravidian movement to which he belonged.
