Under its Reliance 4G upgrade offer, PayTM is offering Intex Aqua Super 16 GB phone for just Rs 5,909 under a cash back scheme along with a free 4G SIM from Reliance Communications.

The Intex phone is currently selling on Snapdeal for Rs 7,500 and on Amazon for Rs 8,300 and was launched late last year for Rs 10,390.

With the latest offer, the model has become the most attractive entry-level 4G handset for those who want to try the new network of Reliance Jio and RCom.

Its biggest competitor is Reliance Jio’s Flame 1 mobile, priced around Rs 5,200 in stores. The phone is expected to come with a free Jio SIM card and data early next month.

However, in terms of hardware, the Intex model is clearly miles ahead of the LYF phone.

The Flame 1 mobile has just 1 GB of RAM and only around 4 lakh pixels on its display.

The Intex model, on the other hand, comes with 3 GB of RAM and a 1-mln-pixel display.intext-aqua

In addition, while the LYF Flame 1 has only 8 GB of storage memory (most of which will be eaten up by the operating system), the Intex Aqua Super has 16 GB of internal storage memory.

The Intex model also offers support for MicroSD cards of up to 128 GB, while the LYF model supports only 32 GB.

Other advantages of the Intex model are a superior back camera (8 MP vs 5 MP  on Flame) and a slightly bigger battery (2.15 Ah vs 2.0 Ah).

The Aqua Cloud is powered by MediaTek MT6735P chipset andn Mali T720 GPU.

The LYF phone, however, has two advantages compared to the Aqua Super — a 5-MP front camera vs 2 MP on Aqua Super and support for 4G voice. Both phones support the three bands on which Reliance 4G will operate.

While the Intex phone is available right now and also comes with a free Reliance 4G SIM card from Reliance Communications, the Flame 1 is not currently available with any special offers. However, it could come with free data and SIM card from Reliance Jio in the future. The free 4G SIM can only be used to upgrade a CDMA connection and not for getting a new number.

PayTM is also offering similar 4G offers and cashbacks on other models such as Yu Yuphoria,  Lenovo A6000 1 GB model and Asus Zenfone Max.
