Microsoft cuts Lumia 535 price to Rs 6k under exchange offer

lumia 535Microsoft is offering the Lumia 535 for Rs 5,999 under a limited period exchange offer, implying a discount of Rs 750 from its existing price on Amazon.

The Lumia 535 is available on Amazon at Rs 6,750 from seller Cloudtail.

The phone was superseded by the Lumia 540, which was launched recently and comes with an HD display instead of the quarter HD display found on the Lumia 535. The launch of Lumia 540, which has got better customer feedback than Lumia 535, had hit the sales of the older model hard.

However, the 540 is priced at Rs 8,500, or about Rs 2,500 more than the exchange price being offered for the 535.

Nearly everything other than the displays is the same in case of both phones. However, the 540 has an 8 MP back camera while the 535 has 5 MP cameras on both the front and the back.

Both come with the 3G-only Snapdragon 200 chipset.

In other words, the 535 is not exactly the latest and the greatest in terms of specifications, even in the entry-level segment.

However, if for some reason you love Microsoft phones, you can take advantage of this exchange offer.

Now, we jump to Microsoft’s description of the phone and the offer.

“The Microsoft Lumia 535 features five free, integrated Microsoft experiences, a spacious 5-inch Gorilla Glass 3 display and a 5 MP front facing wide angle camera. Just right for young Indian smartphone users, the Microsoft Lumia 535 boasts the latest quad-core processor, allowing users to enjoy Microsoft in-build experiences like Skype, Office suite, Xbox and OneDrive.

“The incredible wide-angle, 5 megapixel front facing cameraclicks great selfies, fitting in more people and memorable backgrounds in the frame than any other smartphone camera.”

“Microsoft Lumia 535 sets the benchmark in bringing the best of the Windows ecosystem at an accessible price point. Customers today are increasingly looking at an uncompromised experience on their smartphones at a price they can afford and the Microsoft Lumia 535 at this new price is the ideal buy for young consumers today,” said T.S Sridhar, Director-Sales, Microsoft Mobile Devices.
