Second charge-sheet filed in 2G

The Central Bureau of Investigation, India’s premier investigating agency, has filed the second charge-sheet in the $10 billion 2G spectrum case.

However, the filing at the special CBI court in Delhi has been opposed on procedural grounds by A Raja’s lawyer. The Court is expected to allow or disallow the filing by 4:30 pm.

While there are unconfirmed reports that Karunanidhi’s daughter and MP Kanimozhi has been named as co-conspirator in the second report, CBI has not officially confirmed any of the details of the charge-sheet.

Others suspected to be named in the second chargesheet are Shahid Balwa, CEO of Swan Telcom, Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar and officials of firms Cineyug and Kusegaon.

It is alleged that Rs 214 crores was paid as bribe to A Raja through a series of companies like Cineyug Films and Kusegaon Realty.

A Raja, Shahid and several other top officials of telecom companies are already in jail.

Dayalu Ammal, wife of Karunanidhi and mother of Kani Mozhi has not been chargesheeted, according to sources. Ammal owns most of the shares in Kalaignar TV.
